Rating P3 Bites & Stings: The Clodbottle Pain Index

Professor Clodbottle here, ready to introduce you to the magnificent world of P3s! What are P3s, you may ask? It stands for Petpetpets, the tiny pests that infest our lovable Petpets, of course! P3s come in all kinds of shapes and forms, with many being parasites that bite or nibble.
And who am I? I'm Professor Clodbottle, Yellow Kougra, famed member of the Seekers, Habitarium inventor, and P3 expert extroidinaire! I've studied all kinds of P3s, and even named a few. Today I will be taking you on a journey through the painful world of P3 bites and stings. As you may well know from giving your Warf its annual Mootix bath, P3s have a whole arsenal of biting, nipping jaws and painful stingers with which they annoy their Petpet hosts! Well, I have taken on the admirable challenge of documenting the pain level of these bites and stings - to help with future research of course.
I present to you what I call the Clodbottle Pain Index: a number ranging from 1-4 to indicate the level of pain from being bitten or stung by each of these P3s. One represents the lowest level of pain - even a whiny Kadoatie could tolerate it, while 4 represents maximum levels of hurt - even a Grarrl would be brought to its knees!
I have divided our tiny enemies into two major categories: those that bite, and those that sting. Biters are equipped with jaws, mandibles, or pinchers, relying on mechanical force. Stingers instead have just that - a sting! A pointy end with which to jab, which may or may not include additional venom. Exciting! Without further ado, let's examine each of our P3 opponents.
The Biters:

Mootix
Clodbottle Pain Index: 1
Ah, the quintessential P3. Every Neopet has given their Spardel or Kadoatie a Mootix bath in response to these cute, biting creatures! While annoying in large amounts, the humble Mootix is not equipped with massive jaws, thankfully, so its individual bite is a bit lacking. Try telling that to a scratching Warf, though! Due to lack of sharp teeth, jaws, or pincers, the Mootix receives only an index of 1; it's bite is only slightly tingly, like after drinking a Healing Potion.

Moquot
Clodbottle Pain Index: 2
Every Neopet who has visited the swamps of Haunted Woods has encountered these annoying little buggers! Moquots are after blood and seem to appear en masse - as soon as you squish one, it's as if 10 more appear! Due to their wings, they are highly mobile and efficient in finding Neopet and Petpet targets. Moquots have a long proboscis - a scientific term for the snout-mouth apparatus - that they use to suck blood. While not painful per se, bites can be incredibly itchy and annoying, resulting in a pain index of 2. A bite is like being zapped by a Rainbow Gun in the Battledome - a light shock.

Pinchit
Clodbottle Pain Index: 3
Now we are getting into the painful creatures! The Pinchit is also a well-known P3, most identifiable by its larger pinchers. Instead of biting, this P3 relies on a painful pinch. Petpets definitely know when this pest has attacked them, as their pinches cannot be ignored. They also have a robust exoskeleton, making them resistant to destruction and overall quite hardy. Understandably, the pain index is a solid 3; as if a Yooyu ball just hit you in the face.

Blechy
Clodbottle Pain Index: 4
The Blechy is a force to be reckoned with. Incredibly strong for its size, the mouth is ringed with sharp teeth and it has an amazingly strong grip. An infestation of these P3s will require a doctor's visit, as no over the counter medicine is good enough to rid yourself of them! The red color of this creature is a sign to stay away. Especially difficult is their propensity to hold on after biting: you may need a wrench for removal. The pain index is at 4, the highest possible. A bite is akin to being hit with the trap arrows of Geraptiku.
The Stingers:

Bumbluz
Clodbottle Pain Index: 1
Next we move onto the stingers of the P3s, which rely on a painful, precise sting to inflict damage. The most common of these is the iridescent Bumbluz, which can be seen flying above the lakes of Faerieland. While Bumbluz are pretty, they also have a small stinger capable of inflicting electrical damage. Picking one up may result in a zap to the unwary Neopet. While surprising, the sting is not very painful, resulting in an index of 1. It's a bit like getting zapped at the Lab Ray.

Springabee
Clodbottle Pain Index: 2
Spring has sprung, the flowers are blooming, the sun is shining! But trod carefully, because there may be a Springabee flying among the flowers. This P3 is a pollinator of Neopian plants but beware its sting! It can be quite aggressive, especially when a hive is disturbed. The sting contains a mild venom to dissuade Neopets and Petpets from bothering it. As a result, the sting can be quite painful, earning an index of 2. A sting is like being zapped by a lightning bolt at the Wheel of Excitement.

Veespa
Clodbottle Pain Index: 3
Like the Springabee's more aggressive cousin, the Veespa also delivers a painful sting and is prone to attack in groups. Thankfully, it is wingless so has limited mobility. The purple and yellow stripes serve as a warning to think before you grab this P3. Stings result in painful welts that may require a visit to Dr. G in Neopia Central. A pain index of 3 indicates that this is no P3 to ignore. Being stung is similar to being blasted by the Snowager.

Skuffler
Clodbottle Pain Index: 4
The Skuffler is no P3 to play around with! If you see one, keep your Petpets away. The red exoskeleton and menacing stinger are clear indicators that this P3 is dangerous. They usually occur singly and are not prone to aggression, but a sting can be quite nasty and require a visit to the pharmacy. Therefore, this stinging P3 receives the highest pain rating of 4. Being stung is like being blasted with a Scorchstone in the Battledome - a visit to the Healing Springs afterwards is nearly required.
And there you have it! My personal ratings of the weakest and strongest P3 bites and stings, all conducted for science. As always, please leave the testing to professionals such as myself - I do not endorse any Neopet in repeating my experiments. Remember that we Neopets coexist with P3s, so please respect their existence - they play essential ecosystem roles in Neopia just like any other living thing. Now I'll be off to the Neopian Pharmacy again - Dr. G always hates to see me coming! Toodle-loo!
